EPL betting tips on goal scorers

When you are looking to bet on a player to score a goal in a game, it always pays to stay away from the big names and the big clubs if you want value. If you take a look at the statistics we have, you can pick out some smaller players who are scoring well and find value when backing them to score in their next game.

When you think of players scoring, you automatically think of players like Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and many others of the league's big stars. However, when you want to bet on goal scorers, the stars will often offer little value and it pays to look elsewhere in the soccer betting.

Here is a list of players who have caught my eye so far this season.

Sam Vokes – Burnley

After the departure of Andre Gray from Burnley, Sam Vokes was their only striker. He has taken advantage of the situation and scored two goals in his opening three games. With Chris Wood arriving at the club, Vokes will have to play well if he is to keep his place on the team, and I think that is going to push him on to score even more goals in the coming weeks.

Being a lesser known name, playing for a smaller club, Sam Vokes will represent value in the goalscoring markets, and he is certainly a player to keep an eye on over the next few weeks.

Steve Mounie – Huddersfield

Despite promotion this summer, Huddersfield has started life in the Premier League very well. One thing I like about them is that they like to attack teams and I can’t see them sitting back defending very often. That means they will create chances for Steve Mounie, their summer signing who has scored two goals from his first three Premier League games. Even if Huddersfield settle down and start to lose games, I still expect them to score goals in defeat.

Steve Mounie has made a good impression so far and playing on a team where he will get chances he looks to be a productive goal scorer and a player worth backing in the next few weeks.

Jamie Vardy – Leicester

Vardy is a little different because he is a big name that we all know. However, he is currently offering value because he was so poorly last season, but he has started off this year much better. Vardy has also scored twice in his opening three games and looks to be the same player that he was a couple of years ago. If he performs like that, then he will score 20+ goals this season and is indeed someone to be looking at early in the season.

Jamie Vardy won’t be value for long, the bookmakers will realize how well he is playing, but for now, he represents value in the goalscoring markets after the start he has made this season.
