3 ways Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez saga could come to an end

The Alexis Sanchez Saga

Having turned down an improved, lucrative new deal from Arsenal in the summer, it was apparent that the love between him and The Goners is about to end. However, when his proposed deal to Manchester City failed at the very last moment, it was widely expected he would stay and go as a free agent in the summer.

With reports claiming both Manchester United and Manchester City are battling it out for the Chilean, here are three ways this saga could come to an end.

Join Manchester City

As a matter of fact, how can you beat a team with a 15-point lead at the top of the table? It looks like the obvious choice, right? However, it's not that simple. Not that any player wouldn’t want to play under Pep Guardiola, share a dressing room with the best in the Premier League or add a trophy, to his name. The real problem is slightly different.

Pep was the main reason Alexis Sanchez joined Barcelona in 2011, but only a year later, Guardiola left the club and Sanchez had to see his playing time limited, mostly entering as a substitution. With 30 years of age, Sanchez is compelled to pick the option where his status as a first team player would be guaranteed.

On the other hand, good news for him could be the recent announcement of Pep that he’ll be at City at least for the next season. The Spaniard is well known as a nomad when speaking about changing teams, but it looks like he is finally settled and ready to create history with The Citizens.

Join Manchester United

The Red Devils has yet to hit their best this season, and they are already 15 points behind City in the Premier League, so could Alexis Sanchez be the answers to their struggles??? You bet!

Scoring 80 goals in 156 games, Alexis was top scorer in each of the last three seasons, since he joined Arsenal. Already well adapted to the intensity of the Premier League, he will add something special to United squad.

However, the heated part of Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger could be a huge barrier to Arsenal’s decision to sell Sanchez to Old Trafford.

The relationship between the managers has been profoundly violated over the last few years, with both referring strong words to each other. With this in mind, It looks like only crazy money or a quality player in exchange could change Arsene Wenger’s mind and approve the deal.

Stay at Arsenal

Of course, this is an option very much alive. If neither of the clubs could strike a deal, Alexis Sanchez will have to stay at Arsenal and wait for his contract to expire in the summer.

With The Goners yet to win a game in 2018, this would be a loose loose situation for both sides. The player won’t be happy at all after failing to secure a move away for the second period in a row, and Arsenal would be forced to deal with a player who does not want to play for the club anymore.

At this moment, the saga could go in either of the three ways, but If I have to take a blind guess, I will go for Alexis to join Manchester United.
