Money Line Sports Betting Tips

Hi and welcome another episode from the sports betting tips video series by SportsTrade. I’m Allie, and I’m the spokesperson for this video series. In today video, we will look at sports betting tips with money line. In other words, what does a money line in sports betting mean, and how is it used as a tip to winning bets?

What Is Money Line?

According to the sporting charts, the money line is described as a type of betting line in which the amount a player must wager in order to win $100 is laid out or better put, the amount the player wins on a wager of $100. Now, let’s take a look at money line sports bets.

In the money line sports betting, there is no point spread or handicap. So how do you win it, you asked? Basically, to win the money line bet, the tip is that the team wagered on must win the game. While payoffs are based on true odds rather than fixed types, the amount you lay or take differs from game to game. The truth is, everyone makes money line bets with even realizing it. Even non-gamblers do. But in the real sense of it, betting the money line for a game is arguably the most simple way to wager on sports.

You just choose a player or team to win. If you choose the winning side, the sportsbook will simply have to pay the amount due.

Moreover, the favorite team or player in this system is the team that is expected to win. This side of the bet is listed with a minus (-) sign, and the underdog team or player on the money line is the team that is expected to lose, denoted with the plus (+) sign. These signs denote how either side of the wager will pay; the minus will pay less than the original wager, and the plus side will pay more than the original wager.

The money line wager is used in low scoring sports like baseball, soccer, and hockey. We hope you’ll get some takeaways from this video. Discover more about other sports betting tips from other videos in the series.

Thanks for watching and good luck!
