Lewandowski And Barcelona: When Dreams Come True

Lewandowski And FC Barcelona

Some things that happen in football are amazing. Seriously, they are amazing! Indeed, a team's history can change from one day to the next. A team can go through bad times, and good news, such as the arrival of a particular player, transforms that team. Even this news can make it (at least give it hope) to be a winner. But, if this team is FC Barcelona, it may win every tournament ahead of it during the season. Yes, FC Barcelona, the same club still going through an administrative crisis, has had many problems in recent years. Well, it is now the team that everyone talks about (for good and not to criticize negatively) and the one that many other clubs envy. The reason has a first and last name: Robert Lewandowski. This seems like something out of a Netflix series: FC Barcelona finally signed the best scorer in this universe. So, they ended one of the most difficult transactions in recent years.

Few thought Robert could dress in the uniform of the "Cule'' team. This negotiation took so long and had so many setbacks that everything indicated that Lewandowski would stay with Bayern Munich. Besides, another team could have gotten away with it and signed him, ending Barcelona's dreams. But guess what? At this moment, Román Laporta, president of the club, feels like the protagonist of a Shakespeare play... and not precisely Hamlet.

Lewandowski is supposed to have arrived at Barça for around 60 million Euros. Now, all the pieces fit. All the deals on the transfer market make sense, and Barcelona looks like the team that could very well win it all this season. But how can Lewandowski adjust to Barcelona's game? Well, Lewandowski WILL BE Barcelona's style of play. And that is what the team needed. We affirm this because, since Messi's time, Barcelona focused its attacks on a player who could effectively execute them and score. When Messi left, Barcelona lost this game system; however, they can retake it now with a Lewandowski at the top of their career. It is enough to analyze his last three seasons with Bayern. By doing it, we notice that in each season, he scored more goals than the number of games he played. In the 2019-20 season, he played 31 matches and scored 34 goals. In the 2020-21 campaign, he played 29, scoring 41 goals, and last season, he played 34 matches and scored 35 goals. These are really impressive numbers.

Lewandowski will bring focus to Barcelona's attack. It is already proven that he knows how to team up with the club's other attacker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was his teammate at Dortmund. We add the experience of Ousmane Dembélé. He did not have a great last season, but with the arrival of Lewandowski, he could change his position and have more freedom to play. For Barcelona, there is one final approach, and Laporta has already said it: sign the necessary players to improve the defense. If they succeed, Barcelona could be resurrected and have one of the best seasons in its history.
