Rot Weiss Ahlen Reviews

The club was founded in the late 1900s and named as LR Ahlen as based on the major sponsors of the club, but in early 2006 the club name changed as the sponsors withdrew their support after the team was transferred to the lower division of the league to the Regionalliga (III) in 2006.

FreieSportclub Union, Rot Weiss Ahlen was founded in 1917, and they became one the best team of the region, which is playing in the second tier leagues of that time. The rise of Nazis in Germany cause them to break up the team over three-quarters as most of the members of the group are foreigners, and the Nazis in Germany are not allowing them to play in the club.

So during that time, the club regime and also loses its place in the leagues. In early 1933, a new club was formed, Tus Germania Ahlen. After which in 1991, the eight members from the prewar clubs came together to form Turn- und Sport Ahlen, which became the new side which went on for many decades for their routine play in most of the local upper leagues. In early 1991 due to financial crises, they had to face the demotions to the lower levels.

The local benefactor, Helmut Spikker, helped the club to overcome the dilemmas by providing funding from its firm, cosmetics manufacturer LR Internationals.

In 1999-2000 the team division in the seasons was 2nd, and from 2000-2001 it was 2.Bundesliga and position was 2nd. The divisions and locations decrease and increase in the team very much, and the new division of the group is Regionalliga West from 2016-2017, and the position was relegated to the 15th.

The present former manager of the team is Christian Britscho from 10 October 2018 till present. Daniel Wildoer is the current physiotherapist of the group.
